My Experience with Latin Energy Dance Company

From April until September of 2019, I had a wonderful opportunity to gain valuable experience in the professional dance industry, working with World Latin Dance Cup Judge, Vanesa Stay, as the Marketing Strategist and Design Intern for Latin Energy Dance Company.
In this role some of the things I was responsible for included:
- Creating graphic design content for poster promotions / flyers / social media - Assisting in planning and facilitating company events (Took photographs during the events, planned and prepared food for the socials, set-up the venue, helped take-down afterwards) - Editing photographs from company events to create marketing material - Managing registration desk / cash handling / customer service - Assisting with dance classes when needed - Creating events on Google Business / Facebook / Meetup - Sharing company content in relevant social groups to advertise and expand network - Writing captions / promotional paragraphs for company's website and social media
- Representing Latin Energy at multiple festivals and outdoor performances by operating the promotional booth
- Advertising in the area by distributing marketing materials to other local businesses
My favourite experience during my internship was working at Mississauga Latin Festival in Celebration Square, which took place the weekend of August 2nd - 4th, 2019. I represented Latin Energy by operating the promotional booth, but also had a chance to perform on the festival main stage with the dance company's Ladies' Styling team (Friday and Saturday shows), as well as dance in the parade on the Sunday.
This was the Saturday performance I was in with Latin Energy's Ladies' Styling Team at Celebration Square, performing a Sensual Bachata routine to Loca de Amor by Vikina, choreographed by Vanesa Stay.
